Payment information

Everything below describes exactly how checkout works on this site today. Nothing here is a promise we have not already built.

Accepted payment methods

We accept debit and credit card payments, processed by SumUp. Additional payment methods are being added — this page is updated when one goes live, not before.

Currency

Every price on the site, in your cart and at checkout is shown in US dollars (USD), and the USD total you confirm is the total the order is placed for. Our payment account settles in euros, so the conversion happens on our side at the live exchange rate at the moment you pay — you never have to work out a euro price yourself.

Your bank or card issuer may apply its own foreign-transaction fee or its own exchange rate when the charge reaches your statement. That fee is set by your bank, not by us.

Is my card safe?

Card details are entered into SumUp's own secure card field, which is embedded in our checkout page. Your card number never touches The Pokécave's servers and we do not store it. We receive only the payment result — approved or declined — and the order details you typed in yourself.

When you are charged

Your card is charged when you submit the payment at checkout, not when you add an item to your cart. Adding to the cart never reserves stock, so items can sell out while they sit in your cart.

If a payment is declined

A declined payment means no order was created and no money left your account. Declines usually come from the card issuer — an international-payment block, an insufficient balance, or a mistyped card, expiry or postcode. Check those details and try again.

Order total

The total you see at checkout is the amount charged. Any duties or import charges that may apply in your country are set by your local customs authority and are not included in that total.
